II. Appearance

They have smooth, almost glass-like wings with the texture of silk. They are about 7'-10' tall at the nose.

Their wings are solid when viewed from above, but are clear as glass and transparent when viewed from below. This is to aid them in hunting.

They have long claws that are - in microscopic view - backwardly serrated for gripping fish and dolphins, their main food source.

They have short, thick tails with fins at the end, two shark-like dorsal fins down either side, and occasionally a fin at base of their spine. The number of fins can vary, but not more than four on each side of their tail. They use their tails to smash their prey with a force strong enough to break rock.

They can have fins on their underbelly or not, it just depends of the dragon.

III. Classes
There are five classes of MarbleWings, listed here from most common to rarest.

1. Cave
The most common, Cave Marbles, live in - as their name suggests - caves near or in water.
They usually eat fish, fruit, seabirds, and dolphins.
Their horns are straight and sharp.

2. Beach
Fairly common, this class lives on beaches. They typically reside in tide pools or burrow into the sand to shelter from weather or enemies.
They usually eat fish, crabs, starfish, dolphins, and fruit.

3. Cavern
Fairly rare, Cavern Marbles live in underground rivers and lakes, rarely coming up above ground. Their eyes have adapted to darkness.
They usually eat fish, eels, bats, and occasionally dolphins.

4. Tropical
This rare class of Marbles lives anywhere with warm, clear water, such as jungle rivers and lakes, coral reefs, and often near tropical beaches.
They usually eat fruit, fish, anemones, and dolphins.

5. Arctic
The rarest class of them all, Arctic Marbles live in polar regions. They are adapted to subzero temperatures and are comfortable around snow and ice. They live in and around glaciers and ice beaches.
They usually eat fish, seals, seabirds, and dolphins and belugas.

IV. Coloring & Design

1. Coloring
Every MarbleWing has at least some gray, brown, or white tones. They almost always have splashes of color, but sometimes, very rarely, they can be completely colored or completely gray, brown, or white.

2. Names
There are no limits for what you name your MarbleWing, go crazy!

3. Other
Scale plates are hard plates lining Marble's front and back legs and sometimes up their wings. These plates can harden into a solid, marble-like rock that serves as a nearly impenetrable shield. They can usually control when they harden, but sometimes it takes practice.

A MarbleWing can have frills on almost any part of their body, but it always goes from the base of their skull to their shoulders and from the the base of their spine to the middle of their tail. Their frills can be ripped or missing. Their frill typically does not grow back, but occasionally beach or tropical Marbles' frills will grow back partially.

4. Mutations
• bioluminescent patterns
• fish fin tail (rather than shark fin tail)
• wings clear on both sides (rather than just the bottom side)
• four wings (two smaller like SilkWings or HiveWings)
• irregular coloring
• shell encrusted (shells, rocks, and/or starfish are encrusted on scales)
• water-filled (water in horns/legs/tail, transparent)
• two headed
• dark sclera (whites of eyes are gray or black)
• fur replaces frill

The rarity of MarbleWings depends on how many mutations they have. For example, Common would have none, Uncommon would have one, Rare would have two, Extremely Rare would have three. You cannot have more than three mutations.

----

V. Abilities
As mentioned earlier, each MarbleWing has scales plates lining their legs and wings.
Some Marbles scale plates are large and some are small.

The plates can harden into a nearly impenetrable shield. They can almost always control when they harden, but for some dragons it takes some practice.

Animus dragons are always brought up as either nobles or servants, depending on their parents' status.

MarbleWings can fully breathe underwater, but have no gills. They breathe water just like they breathe air. They inhale it into their lungs and absorb oxygen from the water. They can't breathe well in polluted water, as they can't absorb as much oxygen from the water itself. This is why they live in crystal clear water, whether its fresh water or salt water. Marbles that live in salt water have glands on their wrists to expel extra salt they may absorb. They sometimes use it as a weapon, spraying blinding salt into prey's or enemy's eyes.

They can also swim extremely fast, up to 60 miles an hour, and, in some cases, even faster. Marbles with fish fin or double wing mutations can typically swim even faster.

They don't usually have webbed talons, but the Cavern class sometimes develops webs between each claw. This is not a mutation.

VI. Religion & Statuses

VI. a. Religion

All MarbleWings worship the Spirit of the Land, the dragon-like spirit that was supposedly the first MarbleWing. They usually call it the Uhane (oo-ha-nay), which means 'spirit' in Hawaiian, which is much of what their culture is based off of. It is also based off of Japanese culture.

They never sacrifice, but pay respects by giving gold and food to the priests, the dragons who watch for signs and prophecies from Uhane.

They also believe that when they die, they go to Lani, a heaven-like place where they reside with Uhane, watching over all MarbleWings and become guardians for their kingdom.

VI. b. Statuses

1. Royalty
There are five MarbleWing kingdoms, one for each class of MarbleWings. For each kingdom there is a Queen and her king. They live in the palace with their sons and daughters, the princes and princesses.

*All royal slots are closed to owners, co-owners, and admins.*

2. Priests
There are three priests for every kingdom. They are the watchers of the temples and guardians of the Uhane. They watch for signs and prophecies from the Uhane and its Chosen Ones. They are highly respected, the Queen being the only one higher in rank.

*All priest slots are closed to a select few people.*

3. Noble
Nobles are usually very rich and very respected. They live in the palace or on the palace outskirts, depending on their friendship with the royalty and priests.

4. Servant
Servants are typically quite wealthy, especially servants to the Queen and the priests.

5. Upper Class
Upper Class MarbleWings usually serve the servants, helping them with their duties and cleaning their living spaces. They can choose to sell goods alongside the Lower Class.

6. Lower Class
Average MarbleWings with no particularly large amount of money, or friends in the nobility, are usually left alone to sell their goods; food they farm, cloth they make, etc.

V. Architecture
MarbleWing architecture is sometimes ornate and sometimes rough and simple, depending on the importance of what they're building.

For homes and palaces, they typically carve into rock and decorate it with coral, carved wood, marble, and dyed clay. Below is an example of a simple home carved into a rock.

MarbleWings build temples underwater, but not as often as above ground. They will also carve rock formations with their talons and with tools to make islands seem to float, but they are really just balancing on thin pedestals of rock. They love plants and plant life, so they allow it to grow just about anywhere.
